Well people invent styles and people misinterprete styles.look at Uechi.....body conditioning ( according to master Toyama ) was never done to the extent that it is seen now

.......Tai-chi was once a great fighting style
I think the point is that a lot of styles ******, and there are good and bad styles.irrespective of the folks that do them.......what makes a "style"

surely it must be the acceptance and learning of certain key stratagies and techniques and the adearance of certain principles.without that you don't have a style

Sadly that is true of a lot of the stuff going around now..even the so called "Classical"
I went to a karate class where the guy said get in a good "stance"

.........what he meant was have my front leg bent and put all my weight on it and have my back leg about 3 feet behind.........OH and keep my hands at my hips
Guy was a moron, his teacher was a moron.
like all this board breaking and deformed hands

.............get your hands so badly mangled that you cannot hold a gun or knife ( or even a piece of toilet tissue for that matter

)
you have to be your own judge on everything.if the guys look like morons then it is up to them to prove they are not

.lot of folks won't ask those questions though
