Please help me!
I am new to this whole thing; I will be taking a Jujitsu class and I need to know how to get in shape. The way I figure it I am in the normal weight range for my height (5'8" - 160lbs.) but I know that I need to lose weight and get toned but I dont know where to start. I am also pretty weak and I have some dumbells but I just dont know where to start. So if anyone has any tips I could really appreciate it.

Great to hear you are going into training! Congratulations!
I am a certified personal trainer & martial artist and would first recommend that you get a physical exam.
I do not know your age, but if you've been in a sedentary job/lifestyle for a while it is still a good idea.
If your weight is reasonable for your height, which it sounds like it is; then weight loss might not be your top priority.
About 15 minutes of warm-up is good before your main workout.
You might want to start with strengthening your core, this will help prevent injury to your lower back when you are doing any resistance exercises.
If you can, work with a certified personal trainer for a while to learn how to lift safely.
If not, use common sense in your training and don't try to lift too much, too fast.
It takes time to get out of shape and it takes time to get in shape as well. Be patient, but consistent and you should get results.
Hope that is some help.

There's all kinds of advice but your body is the better
judge of when you are 'fit'. Body weight is not, like age, or,these days, sex, a very reliable indicator of physical condition or other things but are relative. You need to start somewhere and usually people start out the wrong way and become discouraged and drop out or reach a certain plateau and give up. Two ways to do exercise:first thing in the morning and last thing at night, though some disagree with this latter, but it's been done with great results in the past. You will get your metabolism going in the morning and keep in going all night, that is, some weight loss will occur due to muscle toning, etc. This is not the whole story. Your dumbbells need not be heavy at first. How much poundage do you have and are the bells adjustable or fixed? You can get a fair workout from 1-3 pounds per dumbbell if you do it right and follow a good routine. High reps for most, will be anywhere from six to eight, to ten to twenty, depending on weight and what you can handle, etc. I don't have time to go into all this now as work calls me,but go slow and steady and then increase things.Good luck.

I forgot this and here it is.
Jiujitsu class will help get you into shape but if the class is showing you things to apply, don't worry about being in top shape. The techniques you learn should enable you to do them without being in top competitive shape at first, and in some cases, not at all. I presume you are doing something like 'gracie jiujitsu' or is it the more traditional/classical type or what?
