what you had was the worst of things, two mothers protecting their young.
Glad to hear it worked out okay.

I was out running along a road at dusk in Vermont once and a bear was eating trash along the roadside down in a ditch. Came up after me and scared the heck out of me. I burned a few extra calories running away from that. He gave me a half hearted chase and then went back to what he was doing.
