First Uechi class w/ Dave Lamb- what to wear?
Im not a regular student at any dojo, and this is my first night auditing a class. He's invited me to participate. What is expected of me as a less than new member- what to wear, formalities, etc? I expect that Ill be bowing to the mat and the instructor, and removing my shoes, but other than that i...

Getting back to this thread-wow
Im glad to hear that he is hale and around. I got a really good reference for them from my Doane college instructor when I took a survey of martial arts class at Lincoln Karate Clinic. The reason I was asking about Dave is that I really enjoyed the uechi style that was predominant in my survey class...

Is Captiol City gymnastics/Dave Lamb still teaching Uechi in the Lincoln, NE area? Capitol's website is gone-the URL is parked with an ad site.

Its been that way for about a year-now they like to keep track of where their readership is going. The Lincoln Journal Star as an online as well and they don't schlep for your info, either. Regarding the weapon use-I can't see how they couldn't prove first[EDIT] degree. After the first of second str...

Itself? Namely the format.Would it be possible to force format the posts to take up the available window without scrolling-maybe make the tables bigger in the center and reduce the side tables? Im playing with the source code a little bit to see if I can make it look like that-not a lot of time righ...

Chris Crudelli
BBC has a show that I got some tv stream rips from a friend of a martial artist named Chris Crudelli. The show is named Mind, Body, and Kick Ass Moves. http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree/tv/mind_body/index.shtml It seems to be similar to the show you all are talking about-a bit of flair for the viewers, ...

Body style
Does uechi favor a larger or smaller person? ( It was mentioned in this thread that one practitioner likes the style because of his body type). Im of a larger frame-I think my lowest Army weight was 185. Im considerably more than that now but its going away with time. Im 5 10 and big chested. Ive do...

Why Uechi
Im curious. Why uechi over other styles? Was it because of the traditional lineage, practicality, prior exposure? What makes uechi, vs. other forms of karate, your style of choice. KIM that im looking for a style and have some options here. Sho-rei, uechi, and a mixed style of pan gai noon/uechi/and...

Great input-thanks!
Ill go look for a flexible cup in the next few days. Incidentally ive been in communication with someone from this board in Lincoln and will try to audit his dojo this week. Uechi sounds so interesting, and a previous post concerning the differences of Goju and Uechi helped me in my decision. Thanks...

Not that I know of
Just beginning. No ground fighting. The class is an eclectic mix of the major martial arts. When I go to actually study I do not think I will be going to this dojo again. Some members here gave me some grapevine information about the dojo that has brought me to the conclusion that it will not meet wh...

No target
No targeting going on, just a comfort question. As I move on into different movements I would hate to be fighting with one more unfamiliar sensation, thats all.
