Dear Sensei,

instructors, competitors, and Parents,
Hope everyone had a great summer. Now its time to get back to serious training and prepare for the Arizona Fall Karate Championships.

This event is sponsored by Sensei Walden. All rings will be matted and have computerized score boards.  Sensei Walden has upgraded his awards to beautiful 4′ medals and all referees will be certified USA Karate referees.

Hope you take the time to support this wonderful event. It will be a great warm up for the Arizona Karate Championships and USA Karate National Qualifier March 2, 2014.

I have also listed an out-of-state competition for those who want to travel and compete in WKF tournaments or if you are an official who wants to upgrade your judging license. My plan is to expand this area of the newsletter for those who are interested in competing in quality out-of-state WKF competitions.

We are continually working on our USA Karate Arizona non profit organization. I am about 70% through a year long mentor-ship program sponsored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals. This program covers all components of the non profit organization with an emphasis on fund raising techniques. Be prepared for me to ask you for funds for our Youth Development Program,a very noble cause.

Jan Landis is putting the finishing touches on our newly developed Arizona Parent Council. I will keep you informed as we start to implement this program.

We are also working with new schools and individuals who are interested in competing in professional events with quality refereeing.

I will keep you informed of new programs as they develop and encourage you to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.

Until the next newsletter, keep kicking and punching.

Sincerely,

Ray Hughes

President
