Mattson Sensei-
I hope this finds you in good health and good spirits. I would first like to apologize for my abscence from the forum. I work seven days a week now as well as going to classes at night. I realize I should have e-mailed you sooner about my inability to keep up with the forum. I greatly appreciate you giving me the opportunity to pariticipate on the web page. Unfortunately with my schedule being what it is, I can not give the forum the attention it deserves. Thank you again. Hopefully I will make it down some Sat. before the camp rolls around.
Sincerely

Thanks for contacting us Wes. We were wondering what had happened to you, since it has been some time between posts on your forum. Hope things quiet down soon and you will be able to resume your timely and informative commentaries on the "Healing Arts Forum". GEM

Hello Sensei Mattson,
I am hoping that you may be able to help me with something. A friend of mine is moving to the Indianapolis Indiana area and would like to start training in Uechiryu. Do you know of any Uechi Dojos in that area that you would recommend, so that I may pass this information on??? Your help with this matter will be greatly appreciated.
Thanx,

Hello Mr. Mattson my name is Michael Boudreau. I am a shodan at Mr. Durkins school. I met you March 27 at Gary Kourey's school during the semiar.I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the seminar, it was very informative and I was fortunate enough to be asked to attend. I really related to the topic of being so tense during sanchin practice, I am trying to find the balance of the half hard-half soft concept. Well I don't want to take up much of your time, just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy Uechi-Ryu and the web magazine.
Thanks Again

What is ICSA?
ICSA is the International Computer Security Association
What does ICSA do?
We certify Anti-Virus Products
We ARE a Source of RELIABLE Independent Information
Our lab technicians field virus help calls all day long. A good portion of them have to deal with these hoaxes and we realized that as an information provider we had little to no information like this in this message. We gathered the technicians together and drew up this message some major house cleaning on the other virus here at ICSA.
Let ME make it clear. We do NOT want to cause ANY alarm with the notifications of ANY new virus, that's NOT our job. [We'll leave that to the vendors ;-)]. This message is simply to inform you of REAL virus and HOAXes.
Here is the message that I received:
VIRUS WARNINGS.....
If you receive an e-mail titled "WIN A HOLIDAY" DO NOT open it. It will erase everything on your hard drive. Forward this letter out to as many people as you can. This is a new, very malicious virus and not many people know about it. This information was announced yesterday morning from Microsoft, please share it with everyone that might access the Internet.
Once again, pass this along to EVERYONE in your address book so that this may be stopped. Also, do not open or even look at any mail that says..... "RETURNED OR UNABLE TO DELIVER" this virus will attach itself to your computer components and render them useless. Immediately delete any mail items that say this. AOL has said that this is a very dangerous virus and that there is NO remedy for it at this time. Please practice cautionary measures and forward this to all your on-line friends.
These HOAXES are NOT a threat. But it MAY BECOME a threat when there is a FILE ATTACHED to that message. Some attachments can delete your computer AFTER you DOWNLOAD and RUN!
Here is a LIST of CURRENT HOAXES that are going around:
NAME Type
-----------------------------------------------------------------
AOL 4 Free - Hoax
AOL 4 Free Trojan Created ! - Hoax / Chain Letter (Non Viral)
AOL 4.0 Cookie - Hoax
Bill Gates Makes You $1000 ! - Hoax

Naughty Robot - Hoax
Nike Gift Certificate Giveaway - Hoax / Chain Letter (Non Viral)

Pen Pal Greetings - Hoax
Returned Mail - Hoax
Sandman - Hoax
Win A Holiday - Hoax
Here are a few REAL VIRUS to BEWARE of!
NAME Type
-----------------------------------------------------------------
AOL Trojan (REAL) - Trojan
This virus has been seen in AOL PWS (Password Stealers). This AOL Trojan will affect any application that is running. If effected, you should receive many program errors that you are currently running. They are working on a cure for it. DO NOT get this confused with the HOAX Trojan (see above). That is NOT a VIRUS, but a BATCH FILE which will DELETE your hard drive!
PKZip300 - Trojan
Deletes ENTIRE Computer
ShareFun.A - Macro virus
Affects Microsoft Mail
I hope that this message cleared some confusions and misunderstandings!

About five years ago I began my search to train in the Martial Arts by purchasing your book outlining the basic techniques and root katas.
I'm sure that there are many books I could have purchased that would have sent me down the wrong road in my training, but fortunately I was attracted to yours. I used your book to help me learn some basic warm up stretches and and simple techniques. After I got myself into some type of reasonable physical condition I began to explore local dojos.
While I ultimately wound up training in Shotokan with a wonderful instructor named Sensei Bambouyani of Chicago, I am certain that your book helped me discover what true martial arts are about as I began my journey of a lifetime.
I still read about many other styles and enjoyed your comments on your web page about broadening horizons and looking at other schools with and open instead of a judgmental mind. I truly believe that traditional schools have more in common than different. I have enjoyed looking at your web page and will look forward to future updates.
If you should ever be interested in learning anything about our humble organization, please feel free to contact me personally by reply or view our website at www.enteract.com\~itka.
Respectfully yours
Jim Herbert

I was studying Uechi-ryu under Bruce Hirabayashi in Atlanta, GA before moving to the Seattle area. I am looking for an instructor near Seattle and was wondering if you knew of one. I tried to contact Dwaine Urquhart who lives in Kent, WA but his email address is invalid.
I appreciate any help you can give me in locating a Uechi-ryu instructor in this area.
By the way, I initially tried to send this to "GMattson@usa1.com" which is the email address on the Uechi-ryu.com website but it also was an invalid address. You may want to change the website to reflect this email address.
Thank you,

Dear Mr. Mattson;
I know you don't expect these kind of letters here, but... I want to thank you for the excellent book, video, and site. You have once again brought to me the love of Uechi Karate that Ron LaBrie had instilled in me in the mid 80's. I have since joined the Army and could not find a dojo untill I found your site. Now I have instruction at home as well as a dojo (although a far away dojo) to enlighten my life once again.
Thank You Again.
Sincerely,

Hi there!
I am a photo researcher for Capstone Press in Minnesota. We publish educational childrens books that are sold to libraries and schools for children from about K-4th grades.
Right now we are desperately searching for images for covers and interiors for our Karate books in the "Martial Arts" series. We love the ones on your kid's virtual dojo page!! Do you have more like this?
We are hoping you can help us by giving us any sources you may know of for obtaining a one time usage of some Karate images. There are four ooks in the series, Karate Blocks, Karate Throws, Karate Kicks and Karate Strikes. We have detailed wish lists of the types of images wanted that we can send to anyone who thinks they can help us out!
Thanks so very much for your help!! :-)

Dear Sensei Mattson,
First of all I would like to tell you that I enjoy your website very much. I've spent a lot of time browsing and have printed out some of the articles to share with other students at the dojo. Also, I wanted to thank you for providing a forum where the Uechi Ryu community can express opinions and openly discuss subjects of interest to everyone. I really appreciated you including me in your surveys, especially this month as this subject is of special concern to me, although I'm not directly responding, as such, to the survey with this letter.
I am a martial arts lover by choice, a traditionalist by nature, and a Christian believer by persuasion of the Holy Scriptures. In my own heart and mind there is no conflict with these three concepts. However, there do arise uncomfortable situations.
I regard all those who have studied, evolved, and passed on the knowledge of martial arts with the highest respect. I've studied enough of our style's history to know that they sacrificed much to do so. I believe it is very important to pass on this history as well as the martial art to our students. It is their right to have knowledge of their "roots" and be taught to respect those who have preserved this special art for them.
However, as Christians we are instructed by God not to bow down to anyone or anything except Him. Even though many view the ceremonial bow to be nothing more than a form of respect, most people who have been instructed in spiritual matters (not only Christians, but others as well) see it as a form of worship.
In order to be a balanced person, our spiritual being cannot be in conflict with our physical being or our mental being. Herein lies the dilemma for me. I can't in good conscience perform the ceremonial bow in front of an honor wall (or altar) without causing an inner spiritual conflict. On the other hand, I don't want to offend others by seeming to be disrespectful of those grandmasters who have passed away, because that is far from my true feelings.
My sensei, Rose Dyer, has set my shodan test in June during the California seminars and tournament. It is a great honor for me that she has asked you to sit on my test board. I didn't think that would be possible and am flattered (and nervous) beyond belief. One of my major concerns is that I will offend you and others watching if I refrain from participating in the ceremonial bow. I would feel a lot more comfortable going into the test if we could resolve this concern beforehand. I would appreciate so much if you would respond to my comments so that I know where you stand on this issue. I have a great respect for your opinion and do not want to offend you in any way.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Linda Diffendaffer
One of the reasons for April's Survey, was to determine how many students and teachers REALLY understood the various rituals in the dojo, especially the kneeling bow to the dojo, the instructors or photographs. To answer your question, there is nothing that specifically links the bowing ritual to Uechi-ryu and you should have the option to participate in this ritual or not. Please read the April "ViewPoint!" to learn what others believe. GEM

Dear Sensei Mattson,
Thank you for your thoughtfulness in responding so promptly. Your comments do help very much. Now I feel I can concentrate on what is really important.

Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the University of Virginia Uechi-ryu Karate Club, I would like cordially invite you to the 1998 Spring Regional Workout to be held here at the University on Saturday, April 25th. We are deeply honored to host the workout. In addition to our Uechi-ryu practice during the event, we will have two special guests who will share their knowledge and skill.
We are pleased to bring you Sifu Raffi Derderian, a yondan in Uechi-ryu. He is also a high ranking practitioner of other systems including Arnis, Bushido Kempo, and Jeet Kune Do. Sifu Derderian will be conducting a seminar on basic knife and short stick techniques. It is recommended that an escrima stick and/or wooden knife be brought to the workout, but these items will be supplied otherwise. A $10 fee will be asked of each attendee to help pay for the miscellaneous expenses in bringing Sifu Derderian down from Rhode Island.
We will also have Sensei Rodney Grabinski, a yondan in Goju-ryu. As we all know, Goju-ryu is the sister system to Uechi-ryu. He and his students will provide a demonstration of their style of karate. From this demo and questions that follow we hope to give attendees better insight into the differences and similarities between the karate systems.
Fliers containing information about the workout and the directions to the University are already en route to your respective dojos. In the meantime, feel free to explore our club website at:
http://scs.student.virginia.edu/~uechi
The website contains a scanned version of the flier. We also have nearby hotel rate information available on request.
I encourage you all to explore the historic grounds of the University of Virginia during your stay. Tours of the grounds will be provided for all interested attendees. Charlottesville also is located within reasonable distance of many hiking and camping areas. In all, there are a wide variety of things to do after the workout to make it a fantastic weekend for all.
Judging from the success of all the past workouts, it is great to see the growing comraderie and spirit that brings us together. If there are any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me:
Arn Abadines at ada2x@virginia.EDU
or
Ian Jenkins at ihj8k@virginia.EDU
We are really excited about this event and we know that everyone will have a great time. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you all here on the 25th.
Sincerely,
Arnold D. Abadines

Dear Mattson Sensei,
I didnt know if i should reply to this survey, since I am in Japan at the time.I apologize if the info. you looking for is just within the states. If so,you are of course still welcome to post it if anyone is curious about thisinfo. We actually perform a kneeling bow only at the beginning ( I hopeI didnt accidently miss this option on the survey). We do bow twice, once to the picture (Nakamura Sensei), and once to the sensei. This is for respect and thanks to the founder and the same to the sensei. At the end we do the same, but a standing bow twice, and also random bows to each other around the dojo after that. I am making plans to attend the camp in August from Japan. If there is anything I can do for you , or other people, please feel free to ask, or let others know I will do what favors I can.
Jason Varga
Thanks Jason. I posted your survey response earlier today, Its nice of you to volunteer to help anyone looking for information regarding Japan. Looking forward to meeting you at the camp. GEM

Dear Colleagues,
If you are interested in Okinawan Traditions, Culture and Values, including the differences between the Japanese, Okinawans, and Americans, you should be interested in the following:.
Dr. Victor E. Okim of the Japan-American Research Institute is being sponsored by the Okinawa-Kai of Washington DC to provide insight into this intercultural puzzle. Dr. Okim (Eiichi Oshiro) is from Haneji, Okinawa and has taught this curriculum to both American and Japanese businessmen and students at the University of Utah, Beloit College, U of Wisconsin, California State College, U of Maryland and Catholic University.
The date and time: Sunday, March 29, 1998, from 1:00 - 3:00 PM The location: Vienna Community Center, 120 Cherry St., Vienna, VA
Dr. Okim says, "One of the key sources of the misunderstandings is that 'positive' values for behavior in one culture are sometimes seen as 'negative' values in the other culture."
I strongly suggest that you attend this seminar by Dr. Okim. If you don't understand the traditions, cultures, and values of Okinawa, then you cannot understand the development and practice of karate as it was and is intended by the Okinawans. The coordinator for the seminar is Mr. Seiji Kuniyoshi (703) 573-1441. Please pass this information along to others as you see fit.
Respectfully,
Nestor Folta

Sensei Mattson,
My name is Michael Durkee, though I don't expect you to remember, I had formerly assisted Sensei Gordi Breyette in his computer needs and on ocassion passed email along for him. My Air Force duties removed me from Okinawa and dropped me into South Carolina, a black hole of sorts in which there are no suitable dojos to train in :( My main reason for emailing you is to ask on the health and well being of Sensei Breyette...this may or may not sound odd, but I have yet to hear "anything" from him. I'm sure you are familiar with the responsibilities of large amounts of mail and how difficult it can be to keep in touch with everyone 100%...certainly I know of Sensei Breyette's battles with keeping up and prioritizing in the past. I've passed along several messages to him, and truly don't know if he has received them or if he is still connected to the cyber-community. I'm certain that there would be no reason for him to "ignore" my messages, he was my first sensei and will always be the paradigm to which I apply all future senseis.
So not to make a "short story" longer, have you heard from him lately? If not directly, at least hear say? I know of political issues that continue to ebb and flow throughout all the Uechi systems...but haven't heard of any "new" issues or semantical differences.
If you could either pass along my concerns, or give me some indication of the last you've personally communicated I would be eternally grateful.
Thanks for your time,
Michael Durkee
A nanakyu left to his own devices in SC :)
Keep trying Michael. Gordi still is quite active on the internet and is probably just behind in his correspondance. I know how that gets. Be patient. GEM

Good morning George,
Excellent class last Saturday.
On your web site "...particularly, exceptional letter hidden within Paul Giella's forum." I can't find Paul's "forum" to begin with. Is it listed in another "Table of Contents" or "Links to Sites" or? Perhaps I don't spend enough time in the site.

Subject: The Young Man's Ferrari
A young man goes out and buys a 1997 Ferrari GTO . It is the best and most expensive car available in the world, costing about $500,000. He takes it out for a spin and while stopping for a red light, an old man on a moped (both looking about 90 years old) pulls up next to him. The old man looks over the sleek, shiny surface of the car and asks,
"What kind of car ya' got there, sonny?"
The young man replies, "A 1997 Ferrari GTO. They cost about a half million dollars!"
"That's a lot of money," says the old man, shocked. "Why does it cost so much?"
"Because this car can do up to 320 miles an hour!" states the cool dude proudly.
The moped driver asks, "Can I take a look inside?"
"Sure," replies the owner.
So the old man pokes his head in the window and looks around. Leaning back on his moped, the old man says, "That's a pretty nice car, all right!"
Just then the light changes so the guy decides to show the old man what his car can do. He floors it, and within 30 seconds the speedometer reads 320 mph. Suddenly, he notices a dot in his rear view mirror. It seems to be getting closer!
He slows down to see what it could be and suddenly, whhhoooossshhh! Something whips by him, going much faster! "What on earth could be going faster than my Ferrari?!" the young man asks himself.
Then, ahead of him, he sees a dot cooming toward him. Whoooooosh! It goes by again, heading the opposite direction! And it almost looked like the old man on the moped!
"Couldn't be," thinks the guy. "How could a moped outrun a Ferrari?!" Again, he sees a dot in his rear view mirror! Whooooosh Ka-BbblaMMM!
It plows into the back of his car, demolishing the rear end. The young man jumps out, and it IS the old man!!! Of course, the moped and the old man are hurting for certain. He runs up to the dying old man and says, "You're badly hurt! Is there anything I can do for you?"
The old man moans and replies, "Yes, Unhook my suspenders from your side-view mirror!"

Dear Sensei Mattson,
You may not remember me by name but, I met you when you came to Vancouver just recently. Even though I could not participate in the classes due to overcoming a broken wrist I really learned a lot by just observing. I have been studying Uechi Ryu for approx. a year and a half and I am always surprised at just how much I learn about myself as well as the art itself. It has been a growing experience for me especially because of my personal circumstances and having the opportunity to learn directly from you was very beneficial. I just wanted to thank you for coming and spending the time with us.
I have learned that there is usually a karate camp held in Boston during the summer months and I was wondering if you could send me the dates as well as some details?
I am E-Mailing you from a friends computer and you can forward this information to her and she will pass it along.
Thank you again for your time and I look forward to hearing from you
Sandy Crawford
All the information can be found on the Uechi Web. Check out the "Festival/Camp" page for details on this year's camp. Send me your "snail" mail address and I'll send you a brochure. GEM

I have just recently purchased your tape of the Uechi ryu system overview and found it most beneficial as a supplement to my instruction. I would like to request that my Sensei, Barbara Silva be added to the list of instructors for the state of RI. She was once a student of the late Dr. David Freeman and Richard Sebastian and now teaches at the neighborhood community center of South Kingstown Parks and Recreation. Her telephone number is 789-0569 and E-mail address is barbaloha@aol.com. I was also interested on how I would go about receiving a copy of your newsletters. Thank you very much for your time.
Barb
The Uechi Website is my newsletter Barb. Your dojo has been listed. Hope to see you at camp this year. GEM

Dear Master Mattson,
My name is Jarret Honahan, I am 19 years old, I have been a student of Homer Ordaz ShiHan, and Allen Horton ShiHan for seven years. I received my ShoDan in the early part of last year. I have heard a great deal about you and your involvement in the Uechi-ryu system. Master Horton speaks very highly of you, your skill, and what you have done for the art. I look forward to having the opportunity of meeting you some day. Ordaz ShiHan forwarded me your request for a viewpoint on Jr. Black Belts. I hope that you find some use in what I have written.
I believe that a child should be able to attain such a priviledged rank. I believe that certain precautions should be taken in training children considering the power that can be obtain by learning the Uechi-ryu system. I believe that as instructors, we should consider ourselves responsible for how, and what we teach our younger students. I do not believe that our younger students should be given instruction in all the applications of the Uechi-ryu system, in that I feel that a child can not be held responsible for adolescent behavior. Children are killed every day by hand guns and knives because they are not responsible enough to control their impulses. As a child who grew up in situations like this, I have seen too many of my friends die because of their irresponsibility. I don't beleive the answer is to give them more deadly weapons to defend against other deadly weapons. I believe the answer is to educate them so that they don't end up in that kind of situation. Children can avoid a situation like this for their entire lives by being taught the correct method of thinking and being instilled with an honorable code of ethics.
I'm sorry I got away from your question about Jr. Black Belts. I do beleive hat younger students should be given Jr. Black Belt in recognition of heir hard work, but ShoDan should only be given after they have had roper training as an adult student.
Yours in Uechi-ryu,
Jarret Honahan
Great editorial Jarret. I thought it appropriate to post in the "Mailbag" as well as March's "ViewPoint!" GEM

Hi there, I was wondering what the favored weapon of Uechi Ryu is.
Thank you.
-J.F.
Probably the "Shoken" (one k nuckle fist). If you are referring to a
external weapon, I believe it would be the 'Bo", then 'Sai'. Others would be equally
in 3rd place. Just my opinion however. GEM

Hi, and thanks a lot! I was strongly thinking about learning how to use Sai's, and I have just two more questions: Is there and advantage between octagonal and round Sai's? And what are some good companys that make them?
I posted a couple of mailings I received this month pertaining to Sai. Hope this helps. GEM

The following exchange came about because of the editorial I wrote a couple weeks ago. Mr. Hall is a good sport and enjoys a good debate. Perhaps some of you might like to join in. Please post to the "Mail Forum" at the top of this page. GEM
My question is what made you change? I do not find non-traditional concepts good and find that students who try to chase two rabbits never catch even one. Uechi is so different just because of Sanchin. I do not receive money personally for teaching so money is not a reason to allow them to wander. The search for knowledge can be wasted in many areas. Just do not understand your understanding.

George Mattson wrote:
Thanks for your letter Bill. I spent many years believing in what you say. However, don't sell the student short. My feeling is that it is better for a student to look around, using common sense judgment in determining what teacher to follow. Rather than waste two years doing something that is BS and then quitting the martial arts totally. We have 1000 dojo within the greater Boston area. Most of these teachers shouldn't be wearing a black belt, never mind teaching. Student should be aware that just because someone wears a belt and displays a certificate, s/he isn't automatically qualified to do anything but take your money! At one time what you say would be absolutely correct. Not today! (Unfortunately)
Best,
George.
William Hall wrote:
George,
Your response to the young student was different than what I would have answered. The participation in the forum is good, but to train and listen to the opinions of many of the so called sensei's could create problems. Every area is different and only one in every 1000 instructors is someone you would want your student or anyone to train with. Even the teachers of the past when most of the Sensei's were good would not allow this to happen. After several years of training then the student can make a choice based on understanding. I will not even take a student from another school till they have tried to work things out with their instructor or they have not trained in over 90 days. The hardest students to teach are the ones who come from non traditional styles. They have no understanding of many of the principles of traditional karate in balance and stance. They push their techniques et..... I have a good working relationship with many of the traditional Sensei's and we often work together for greater understanding of the various styles. Even within Uechi Ryu there are many differences of teaching which can create problems let alone non traditional concepts which cause students great distress. Sanchin alone puts us outside of most other styles concepts. Nothing wrong with learning but like the internet you have to be able to tell what is true and what is just a opinion. Just because it is in a book does not make it true. New student do not have enough understanding to know the difference. Shotokan is a traditional style but they rarely if ever speak of Choki Motobu. All our students are required a basic knowledge of the major systems. At blackbelt level a much higher understanding. There are basic's which cross all traditional styles but rarely touch on the many open type groups. The open type groups out number us 1000 to one. The easy path is always popular but the hard path teaches much more. Paths are not always easy in life and karate. Like all teachers we must set our students feet on the path and help them stay there till they learn to avoid easy dead ends and pit falls.

Weapons Connection,
I am off to Okinawa for my yearly visit. I always get excited the week before I go. I am going to hand deliver 6 more pair of Sai. They are getting popular in Okinawa.
More and more masters are using the Agena Sai, made in the USA. They understand the workmanship and correct balance. Sometimes, it is hard for them to believe it is made in the USA. Someone always questions me about they. They say, this type of Sai was used by Masters years ago and hasn't been around for many years.
The reason for the letter is to remind everyone about the sale going on, until May 2. That is just after I return from Okinawa.
I would like to thank the many people who have ordered our products. Many have sent endorcements and still continue to order the Agena Sai. YOU HAVE THE REAL THING AND THE BEST. Soon, it will be the #1 Sai. It is recognized as a true Okinawa weapon, by the Masters in Okinawa. Thank you for your orders.
There is only one Agena Sai. This is the same type of Sai used by Grand Master Tatsuo Shimabuku and preffered by many other masters in Okinawa. *WEAPONS CONNECTION SALE*
The Weapons Connection TONFA and NUNCHUKU will also be on sale. Our Tonfa is made of a popular wood in Okinawa called, BUBINGA. It is stronger, harder and slightly heavier than Oak. Our traditional Okinawa Tonfa is designed for crushing and penetration. It is a serious weapon.
The Tonfa is double doweled, glued and steel pinned for added strength.
TONFA (Bubinga) --------------from $72. to $50.
Weapons Connections has the finest weapons in decades. No one compares to our products! This is an incredible below cost special. Weapons Connection makes superior products!".
The Agena Sai is hand crafted according to old Okinawa standards, for the individual. The Agena Sai was developed by the Maihira Family and was revered as the finest Sai made in Okinawa. Agena is an area in the Gushikawa City, Okinawa.
The Finial is unique to the Maihira Family. It is the only Sai that collects your energy, compresses it and causes it to explode out of the end. This Sai is called the energy Sai.
The Standard Stainless and the Standard natural steel are 9/16"dia. The natural steel has a blue color from the heat process. The Deluxe Stainless and Deluxe Natural are a little heavier, 5/8"dia. The Deluxe Stainless is the most popular. A Deluxe Sai cannot be made under 18" because the balance will be incorrect.
You measure the Sai from the middle edge of the Finial (ball) to the tip of the blade. (Tip of the extended index finger to the bottom of the elbow) It should be even or slightly past the elbow. However, if it is too long, you will not be able to use the Sai with a correct movement, speed or power. If the Tongs are too wide you will not have good control of your weapon.
You can call me to discuss details so it can be made perfect for you, or by e-mail. Each Sai is custom made to the individual. This sale is for a limited time only!
Here is the SALE!!
TONFA (Bubinga) -----------------------from $72 to $50.
Agena SAI (9/16" natural) --------------- from $230 to $130.
